microwave it (2008-12-28)
I love this candy. The thermostat in my house is set at 65 so the candy doesn't exactly soften. I prefer to chew the candy rather than have it melt slowly in my mouth. I have a small 700 watt output microwave, and I've discovered (by trial and error - of COURSE I ate all the errors) that if I microwave the candy bar (just throw the thing in, wrapper and all, don't unwrap or open before doing so) for 13 seconds, it softens enough to eat without feeling like I should be careful of my teeth. Nuking for 15 seconds softens it too much (the wrapper sticks to it).

the first time i had a big hunk candy bar was when my brother moved back east from colorado, he brough some back with him. i loved em chewy taffy with peanuts in it brilliant idea. try one you'll love em too :0)

A long-ago favorite I've missed (2007-02-03)
This was one of my favorite candies as a kid. I hadn't had one in twenty years, but went home to California this summer for a visit and there it was at the checkout. I forgot all about them! An absolutely fantastic treat, I recommend it highly. I can't wait for the box to arrive!

Great source for a hard-to-find favorite (2007-01-10)
This candy bar was my husband's childhood favorite, but they are no longer sold in the midwest. Big Hunks are everything a candy bar should be--great vanilla nougat, fresh peanuts, and fun to eat. I like to break mine into pieces, he likes to warm his in the microwave till it's soft like taffy. They are always fresh and consistant good quality and we're happy to be able to buy them again!

Loved as a child, still love it (2006-08-23)
I loved Big Hunks when I was a kid many years ago and have only been able to get them on a limited basis over the years since I no longer live in the west. For some reason they are more popular out west so whenever I am out that way or my son has traveled somewhere west and seen some, we've bought some. It's great to know that I can enjoy the great taste any time and not have to wait. It's hard to say that any candy bar without chocolate is one of my favorites, but I have to say that a Big Hunk is probably one of my top choices when it comes to a good candy bar.
